I am a second-generation Realtor with over twenty-five years selling homes in the award-winning Charleston area.
Real estate is the tool I use, but the heart of my work is in helping individuals and families find stability, clarity and confidence in navigating buying or selling a home during life transitions: divorce, death, marriage, empty nest, retirement, career change.
From Rookie of the Year to Realtor of Distinction, my professional and personal experiences have molded me into a professional dedicated to doing good work and helping others and myself live lives of personal and professional significance.
Tara Tatum is a second generation Realtor with over twenty-five years’ experience in real estate in Charleston, SC. She holds numerous professional certifications and designations which keeps her current in a dynamic and ever-changing industry.
Over the years, Tara’s business has evolved from Rookie of the Year to Realtor of Distinction. She graduated from the CTAR (Charleston Trident Association of Realtors) Leadership Institute in 2017 and served as Co-Chair and Chair for Code Pros of the Association. Tara is one of only two Realtors in the greater Charleston area to hold a master certification as a Divorce Real Estate Expert. She graduated from the Divorce Real Estate Institute training program in California taught by family law attorneys, mediators, judges, divorce real estate experts and divorce lending experts. She is recognized as a leader in conflict resolution and negotiation with extensive knowledge, skill and neutrality in handling sensitive and complex real estate transactions in divorce. She also enjoys teaching and mentoring men and women navigating the personal aspects of rebuilding after divorce.
A member of the Charleston Horticultural Society, Tara loves digging in the dirt as a creative outlet. She loves learning, travel, antiquing, long walks downtown or on the beach, cooking and fine wine. She completed her WSET (Wine and Spirits Education Training) and is studying French wine, her favorite region. She lives in Charleston with her mini labradoodle, Paisley, in a mid-century ranch home she completely renovated in 2018.
